The opportunity:
Big Society Capital (BSC) has a mandate to help grow the social investment market in the UK. A core element to helping us achieve this is to help increase the amount of capital from other investors channelled to Social Impact.
This role will work as part of the Investor Engagement Team to help manage investor relationships and to support the Investor Engagement team to build awareness of Social Impact Investment more widely. The individual will be focused on building direct relationships with institutional investors, specifically Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and/or investment consultants – one of the key investor audiences for our engagement activities. You will be responsible for managing existing relationships and generating new ones as well as leading on broader engagement activities targeting this particular investor audience.
Role responsibilities:
Reporting to BSC’s Head of Investor Engagement, the successful applicant will be responsible for the managing investor relationships with LGPS and investment consultants. Working closely with the Head of Investor
Engagement, the role will involve the following key activities:

Engagement strategy: build on mapping already done on the LGPS and/or investment consultants market focussing on who could play a role as an investor in the UK social impact Investment.

Relationship management: creating individual plans to engage both existing and new investor relationships and lead on the ongoing management of these relationships.

Curate and organise investor facing events to support relationship management activities including partnership with investor networks.

Content marketing: produce relevant investor facing content including blogs, articles, and case studies to support education and awareness building of social impact investment.

Product development: contributing to the design and development of new client facing products to enable BSC to widen its impact and drive further development of the UK social impact investment market.

Internal Collaboration: contributing to investment team’s work by participating in internal meetings as relevant to help bring insights & connections from engagement work to BSC’s investment activities.

Experience
Essential:

Proven ability to build relationships with investors.
-
Interest in impact investing and/or social sector either in a personal or professional capacity.

Existing knowledge, networks, and relationships within the LGPS and/or investment consultants.

Good understanding of private market investments, ideally in the UK context.

Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively depending on the audience.

Experience developing or overseeing the production of investor facing marketing collateral.
