IMPACT by Sir Ronald Cohen — a must read according to our Founder, Sheena Pentin.

His new book introduces the theory of the Impact Revolution: the idea that impact must be brought to the heart of our economic system. The Impact Revolution has begun to create momentum, changing our economies and influencing decisions regarding consumption, employment, business and investment. We must adjust our approach to investment, by considering not only Risk and Return but also the Impact on people and our planet, in order to address the huge social and environmental challenges and surging inequalities.

IMPACT navigates through the key role of impact entrepreneurs and investment firms which are harnessing the power of capital to achieve impact alongside profit.

A must read if you are interested in pursuing a career in social impact investing or already contributing to the global movement so we can continue to achieve systemic social and environmental change, and a better world for future generations.

Check out the freshly launched Doughnut Economics Action lab and the DEAL Community Platform – an emerging global movement of new economic thinking. If you are wanting to work within the social sector, or already are, this progressively renowned economics model is important to pursue as it aims to encourage the creation of 21st century local and planetary economies that are regenerative and distributive by design.

It is even more vital that during this pivotal time of social innovation and change after the pandemic, that DEAL’s proposition—that the planet’s resources are used to meet the needs of all people but within the means of planet and without putting pressure on our life support systems – is adopted by local and international economies and organisations.

His guest, Stephen Frost, shares tips on what makes leaders effective and how they can identify and overcome biases so that their businesses and organisations are more inclusive in their decision making.

With diversity being embedded in everything we do, Frost reveals two small things which would open up better conversations and disagreements in the work place between people who think differently and challenge each other’s preconceived views of the world.
